Having toiled away for 12 years working for high street banks, in 2012 I decided – along with Rob – that I could offer a more complete service to clients if I set up my own financial advice Practice. Since then I have had the extra flexibility to provide full, holistic financial planning and build meaningful and lasting relationships with clients that I just couldn’t do in the past.
I’ve been giving personalised financial planning since 2007 so I think it’s fair to say I’ve helped clients steer a path through a few ups and downs in markets during that period.
Effective financial planning is all about working in partnership with the client to help them realise their goals and ambitions, whatever they may be. The true value of good quality financial planning is to know where the end target is, put in place a sensible plan of action to get there and, crucially, to review the progress of the plan at least every year. There’s no simple ‘one size fits all’ for financial planning and what we put in place one year quite often will need tweaking the next so it’s important to choose a financial adviser you know will be proactive, and one you trust.
I’m proud to say I have attained Chartered Financial Planner status and am a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), which is the gold standard for regulated financial advisers operating in the UK.
After living for 13 years in central London I now live in Hertfordshire with my wife and two daughters. If you ever want to steer the conversation away from financial planning, just ask me about football.
