Having toiled away for 12 years working for high street banks, in 2012 I decided – along with Rob – that I could offer a more complete service to clients if I set up my own financial advice Practice. Since then I have had the extra flexibility to provide full, holistic financial planning and build meaningful and lasting relationships with clients that I just couldn’t do in the past.
I believe effective financial planning is all about attention to detail, especially when dealing with people who have a heightened need for meaningful solutions. This could be anything from a FTSE 100 CEO seeking tax efficient ways to save for the future, to a retired couple wanting a specific plan creating to reduce their Inheritance Tax liability.
I’m proud to say I have attained Chartered Financial Planner status, which is the gold standard for regulated financial advisers operating in the UK.
After living for 13 years in central London I have recently moved to Hertfordshire with my wife and am very much enjoying the extra space and greenery.
In my spare time I enjoy watching and playing football, tennis and golf and I’m an enthusiastic supporter of my home town football club, Scarborough Athletic.
I have worked in financial services since the age of 19. I started my career working for a building society and have worked for major high street banks. In 2012, I started my own practice, alongside Matt.
With so many options now available when seeking financial advice, I strongly believe that to stand out, it is vital to offer an individual service that fully aligns with your needs and objectives. To achieve this, I meet clients on a face-to-face basis at the earliest opportunity to ensure that I fully understand what is important to them. As life progresses, your circumstances, goals and priorities will change. My advice is individually tailored and reviewed on a regular basis to ensure it remains appropriate and in line with your objectives.
I provide advice in all areas of financial planning but my speciality is providing retirement and tax planning advice to contractors, directors, limited companies and the self-employed.
Outside of work I enjoy watching football and have a season ticket at Arsenal. I also enjoy travelling and exploring different cities with my Partner, Jennifer.
I have worked in financial administration for over 18 years, starting as an office junior for a Financial Services Company when I was 18. I soon began working my way through the company and became the Manager for their Protection department in September 2004.
By 2008 I was working alongside regulated Mortgage Advisors, managing and completing their administration tasks, assisting with client queries and managing the administration team.
I started working for Barnes Robertson Financial Planning in March 2018 after taking a year off work to have my son.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and I also enjoy reading and socialising with friends.
